The Senior Manager’s position is responsible for developing and maintaining reporting and analytics for the current Sales organization as well as the new Solutions organization. You will be responsible for partnering with the business line leaders to help develop their strategic thinking, and to provide them with the tools and analysis to make critical business decisions and effectively measure their success against their strategic goals. You and your team will leverage the firm’s internal databases, external data sources, financial statements, and other tools to respond to information requests and develop and deliver accurate, fact-based reports & analysis to accomplish this. You will partner with business line managers, functional areas, and other members of the Retail Strategy & Operations team, and interact with senior management across the organization, and focus on the important issues through advanced analytics, financial modeling, and report production.
Specific Responsibilities:
Solutions group reporting infrastructure development for all levels (including Retail senior management, Solutions group management, field-level reporting).
Sales organization reporting maintenance and improvement (including new requests and automating current reporting).
Strategic analyses for the Sales and Solutions groups including cost/benefit analyses, capacity forecasting, staffing projections, branch profitability, call strategies, etc.
Communication of analyses, recommendations and identified business issues to all levels, both via presentations and other written communication, as well as effective oral communication.
Compensation development and administration - partnering with Compensation Department to ensure that plans align with the strategy of the business and can be executed upon. Building the infrastructure to provide information to the Compensation Department to ensure that associates are paid accurately and in a timely manner.
Budget planning and accrual development for Sales and Solutions areas (in conjunction with Finance department).
Qualifications:
Degree quantitative discipline; MBA would be an asset.
Minimum 7 years in management consulting or in positions directing teams of analysts, requiring frequent written and oral communication to senior executives.
Experience working in financial services required; preferably within the brokerage industry
Knowledge of key competitors, current trends, sales organizations and/or service organizations a plus.
Ability to take a strategic view of a new business while not losing sight of tactical implementation imperatives.
Advanced analytical abilities & problem-solving skills; should be comfortable with interpreting large quantities of data and structuring follow-up analyses.
Ability to develop new processes and implement change across the organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work on cross-functional teams and interact with all levels in organization, including senior executives.
Ability to influence peers and colleagues who are not direct reports in order to drive results.
Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral, written, PowerPoint, etc.).
Capacity to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously; strong project management skills.
Technical knowledge & aptitude (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL: SAS & VBA a plus).
Ability to troubleshoot data issues directly with technology resources.
